If you pay for an electronic vignette with a payment card, all you have to do is to fill in the vehicle information, select the type of the vignette, its validity and pay. You will receive a confirmation by e-mail or at the sales point and you are set to go. If you choose to pay via bank transfer, you can only use the tolled sections of the motorways after receiving the payment confirmation.
You can buy the electronic vignette from 1 December 2020 in the e-shop using a computer or a smart mobile device. There is also a network of physical sales points and self-service kiosks. Electronic vignettes will become valid in the Czech Republic on 1 January 2021, together with the new Act No. 13/1997 Coll. on Roads.
If you hold a ZTP or ZTP/P card, the same conditions apply to you as before, and therefore the vehicle you will be transported with will be exempted automatically. It is therefore not necessary to file a notification of exemption, but the condition is that you must be transported by the vehicle.
In the case of a normal purchase of an electronic vignette, the date and time of payment determines the beginning of its validity. You will find this information on the confirmation you receive by e-mail or on the receipt you will receive at the sales point. The confirmation also states the end of validity of the electronic vignette which is always at 11:59:59 pm on the given day.
If you use the option to postpone the validity of your electronic vignette (you can buy it up to three months in advance), the electronic vignette will become valid on the selected day at midnight.
Yes, the new electronic vignette will have the option of setting the beginning of validity.
